Project Details
Located deep in the forested hills of Buleleng, this ±300 m² home was a full-scope project — covering architecture, interior, landscape, and structural design.
The remote location, steep slope, and limited site access required us to explore smarter construction strategies. After consulting with the contractor and civil engineering team, and considering material availability, we chose H-beam steel as the main structure. This allowed for efficient construction with minimal impact on the terrain, making it ideal for this challenging site.
The building is oriented to capture the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and river valley.
The client, Ibu Ayu - a meditation practitioner and nature guide requested an open and light-filled atmosphere for the shared areas (kitchen and living room), while keeping the bedrooms more private and warm.
One of the most unique features is the rooftop space, designed for camping and meditation, a peaceful retreat where she can reflect, connect with nature, and host mindful outdoor sessions under the sky.
